Scranton, PA - The SUNY Orange women's basketball team fell short in a hard-fought battle against Lackawanna College on Thursday, 52-43. The Colts are now 1-13 on the season, while the Falcons improve to 7-10.
The Colts came out with energy, and the first half was a tight contest, with neither team able to create much separation. By halftime, the Colts found themselves trailing by only one point, 19-18.
Coming back from the break, the Falcons showed a renewed energy and adjusted their pace of play, allowing them to pull away and secure the 52-43 win.
Freshman Madison Olsen (Wappingers Falls, NY / Roy C. Ketcham) led the Colts with 11 points, adding a double-double with 13 rebounds. Olsen had one assist, two steals and one block. Freshman Adriana Joy (Florida, NY / S.S. Seward Institute) contributed 10 points with one rebound and one assist.
The Colts return home on Saturday to face #15 Mercer County Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
