Jamestown, NY — The SUNY Orange women's basketball team fell to Jamestown Community College, 75–50, on Sunday afternoon. The Colts drop to 1–12 on the season, while the Jayhawks improve to 12–6.
The Jayhawks jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, taking a 37–17 advantage into halftime. Although the Colts outscored the Jayhawks 17–10 in the third quarter, it wasn't enough to shift momentum. The Jayhawks quickly regained control and closed out the 75–50 victory.
Sophomore Adriana Vazquez (Newburgh, NY / John S. Burke) led the Colts with 22 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and five steals. Freshman Grace Breheny (Cornwall, NY / Cornwall Central) added 16 points, eight rebounds, one assist, and two steals.
Up next, the Colts return to action on January 22 as they travel to Lackawanna College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
