Women’s Basketball Falls to Sussex County

Newton, NJ - The SUNY Orange women's basketball team fell to Sussex County Community College, 64-51, in a hard-fought road matchup. The Colts drop to 1-6, while the Skylanders improve to 3-8.

The Skylanders came out fast and took control early, and despite a late push, the Colts were unable to close the gap. Sussex County led 35-22 at halftime. After the break, the Colts came out energized and outscored the Skylanders 16-13 in the third quarter, but never took the lead.

For the Colts, sophomore Rayanna Quintana (Eldred, NY / Eldred) led with 15 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Freshman Madison Olsen (Wappingers Falls / Roy C. Ketcham) added 14 points, three rebounds, one assist, one steal, and three blocks.

The Colts are back in action on December 13, as they face Camden County. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
