Newtown, PA - The SUNY Orange softball team went 1-1 against Bucks County on March 17th. With final scores of 10-8 in favor of Bucks and 13-6 in favor of the SUNY Orange Colts.
Game one- Bucks (10) - SUNY Orange (8)
SUNY Orange came out with energy in the first inning putting up three runs. Bucks County quickly responded, bringing in four runs.
The second inning was scoreless for the Colts, but the Bucks scored three more runs extending their lead to 7-3.
The Colts responded in the third inning by bringing in two runs, while they limited Bucks county to one run.
After a scoreless fourth inning for both teams. SUNY Orange and Bucks County brought in two runs in the fifth inning. Bucks County kept their lead 10-7. The Colts brought in one more run in the sixth inning, to cut their deficit to 10-8. SUNY Orange was not able to rally in the seventh inning, closing out the game with a 10-8 loss.
Taylor Horaz pitched four innings allowing two earned runs and striking out five batters.Bridget O'Leary pitched for two innings and allowed four earned runs striking out two batters.
Game Two - SUNY Orange (13) - Bucks County (6)
SUNY Orange came out strong, driving in five runs in the first inning. Bucks County responded by bringing in four runs.
The Colts brought in one run in the second inning, to extend their lead over Bucks County by 6-4.
In the third inning the Colts took full control of the game bringing in seven more runs, while also only allowing Bucks County to bring in one run. The Colts lead 13-5 in the bottom of the third.
SUNY Orange had a scoreless fourth inning, while Bucks County scored one more run in the fourth.
The fifth inning went on to be scoreless for both teams, but the Colts took the 13-6 victory.
