Pacciarelli named MHC Most Valuable Player, McFarlane and Morris named All-Conference
Middletown, NY - Freshman Anthony Pacciarelli (Monroe, NY / St. Joseph Regional) and sophomores Darren McFarlane (Bronx, NY / Monsignor Scanlon) and Keishawn Morris (Brooklyn, NY / South Shore) were honored by the Mid-Hudson Conferene following the Colts run in the NJCAA Division II National Championships. Pacciarelli was named Mid-Hudson Conference Most Valuable Player and First Team All-Conference, while McFarlane joined him as First Team All-Conference and Morris was named Second Team All-Conference.
Pacciarelli enjoyed a standout freshman campaign, leading the Colts with 26.5 points per game, which was second best in the country among all Division II players. Pacciarelli also averaged 6.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game, both second on the team. Pacciarelli scored a career-high 50 points against Ulster February 10, the second highest single-game total in program history.
McFarlane trailed only Pacciarelli in scoring for the Colts, averaging 14.2 points per game but did lead the Colts in rebounding with 7.4 rebounds per game. McFarlane posted eight double-doubles on the year, establighing himself as the preeminent post prescence in the conference.
Morris earned Second Team All-Conference honors after averaging 13.7 points and a team-high 2.4 steals per game for the Colts. Constantly picking up the other team's ball handler full-court, Morris posted eight games with at least three steals, including a season-high seven against Rockland on February 12.
Pacciarelli recently committed to continue his career at NCAA Division I Manhattan University while McFarlane has committed to NCAA Division II Pace University.
