Colts Overpower Drew University JV in 116-46 Win
Middletown, N.Y. - Five players scored in double digits as the SUNY Orange Colts men's basketball team beat Drew University JV handedly Tuesday night, 116-46. Darren McFarlane (Bronx, NY / Monsignor Scanlon) led the Colts with 14 points.
Keishawn Morris (Brooklyn, NY / South Shore), Joseph Jennings (Brooklyn,NY / Nazareth) and Johnny Floyd (Bronx, NY / James Monroe) all contributed 12 points for the Colts while Kenderick Hunter (Cliffside Park, NJ / Cliffside Park) chipped in 10 points.
Charlie Dunner led the Rangers with 18 points on 8-12 shooting.
The Colts jumped out to an early lead and controlled play throughout the first half, taking a 63-23 lead into the break. The hot shooting and smothering defense continued during the second half, as the Colts forced 26 turnovers on the night and shot an impressive 63% from the field. Six players recorded multiple steals for the Colts, led by Morris, Jennings, Marquese Dennis (Brentwood,NY / Brentwood), Gavin Williams (Fort Myers, FL / Bishop Verot) and Giovani Rupert (Miami, FL / Flanigan) with three steals each.
The Colts are back in action this weekend when they travel to Rochester, NY to take on Monroe Community College and Erie Community College in the Monroe Classic. The Colts will play host Monroe on Saturday and Erie on Sunday.
