Colts vs Essex County Wolverines
After a few days to recuperate and adjust the Colts look to bounce back after they suffered back to back losses as they face the Essex County Wolverines who have a record of 2-7 as their last loss came from Raritan Valley who Suny Orange will play next.
The Suny Orange Colts faced off against the Wolverines of Essex in a competitive regular season matchup as from the start of the game the Wolverines looked like they had complete control of the game while the Colts were having trouble scoring until only a few minutes left in the first half. The second half was just like the first half as the Wolverines came out firing on all cylinders but it wasn't until about 5 minutes into the second half when the Colts were able to find their rhythm and tie the score at 64 after they were trailing by more than 10 points. Freshman Marco Evans was one of the key contributors to the win as he stepped onto the court with energy and grit as he was all over the court disrupting passes and hyping his team up on defense when they needed it most, the presence that he brought to the court changed the momentum for the rest of the half. Evans was the one bringing the energy to the court which sparked a huge energy surge to close out the game. The Colts earned their 9th win of the season.
Sophomore, #4 Daniel Lans (Spring Valley, NY ) was the leading scorer of the game and earned himself the performance of the night. Lans finished with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals.
Freshman, #1 Marquis Gill (Middletown, NY) was the highest scorer of the night with 16 points while also recording 7 rebounds and dishing out one assist.
Sophomore, #3 Jared Smalls (Middletown, NY) was once again the man distributor as he collected his season high in assists with 12 assists, also recorded 3 rebounds, one steal and 6 points
