Women’s Volleyball Falls to Dutchess Community College
Middletown, NY - The Colts women's volleyball team couldn't find their rhythm early and dropped a 3-1 decision to Dutchess Community College on Thursday. With the result, the Colts fall to 1-2 on the season while the Falcons improve to 2-4.
In the opening set, both sides traded points before the Falcons pulled ahead late to take it 25-19.
The second set played out in similar fashion, as the Falcons kept steady control and secured a 25-20 win to go up 2-0.
Orange answered in the third with their strongest performance of the night, dominating from start to finish in a 25-12 victory to stay alive.
The fourth set proved to be the closest of the match, but the Falcons held off a late Colts rally to secure a 25-22 win and clinch the 3-1 match victory.
Freshman Angelina Rivera (Paramus, NJ/Minisink Valley) and sophomore Lily Noteboom (Goshen, NY/Goshen) led the Colts on offense, combining for 26 points. Rivera tallied seven kills and 11 digs for a total of 13 points, while Noteboom added eight kills and five digs, also finishing with 13 points..
The Colts return are back in action on Tuesday, September 23, when they travel to face Rockland Community College.
