Game One - SUNY Orange (2) - Monroe University - Bronx (3)
The Express came out with energy to bring in one run in the first inning. The Colts responded in the second inning after Alissandra Soto (Middletown, NY / Middletown) walked to bring in a run.
Monroe added two runs in the fourth inning to take the lead. In the fifth, SUNY Orange answered with a run on an RBI from Alexandra Cushing (Wurtsboro, NY / Monticello), cutting the deficit to 3–2. The Express held off the Colts to secure a 3-2 victory.
Bridget O'Leary (Fishkill, NY / John Jay) faced 30 batters, allowing two earned runs and striking out 10 batters.
Game Two - SUNY Orange (12) - Monroe University - Bronx (0)
The Colts quickly set the tone for the game in the first inning, bringing in two runs thanks to a two-run RBI from Cushing.
SUNY Orange carried its momentum into the second inning, erupting for six runs. Hannah Moulton (Minisink, NY / Minisink Valley) and Soto scored on wild pitches, while Cushing added a two-run RBI single to left. Chasity Mendoza (Middletown, NY / Middletown) chipped in an RBI of her own and Nyla Sepulveda (Bronx, NY / Cornwall) capped the rally with an RBI single to right field.
Caitlyn Higby (Minisink, NY / Minisink Valley) brought in one run in the third inning to extend the Colts lead 7-0. In the fourth inning, the Colts brought in three more runs thanks to a two-run RBI from Moulton and an RBI from Soto. The Colts closed out the game, taking the 12-0 victory.
In the circle for the Colts was Taylor Horaz (Cornwall, NY / Cornwall Central) facing 19 batters, allowing no earned runs and striking out six batters.
Next up, the Colts play host to Westchester Community College on Wednesday, April 15 for a doubleheader. The first game is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., and the second game is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
