SUNY Orange Set to Host Region XV Championships

Middletown, NY - SUNY Orange is set to host both the 2026 NJCAA Region XV Division II men's and women's basketball championships in Chris Schmid Gymnasium this weekend.

Saturday will feature one women's semifinal matchup at 12:00 pm and two men's semifinal games at 2:30 and 5:00 pm. Both championship games will be on Sunday, with the women's championship starting at 12:00 pm and the men's championship scheduled to tip-off at 3:00 pm.

The SUNY Orange women have earned the #2 seed in the championship, having posted a 2-2 record in region, and will square off against the #3 seed SUNY Rockland Hawks. The Colts swept the Hawks in the regular season, winning 60-50 on January 27th and 56-26 on February 12th.

The winner of Saturday's semifinal will move on to play the #1 seed Westchester Vikings. Westchester earned the top seed and first round bye after going a perfect 4-0 in the region during the regular season.

The SUNY Orange men earned the #1 seed after posting a 5-1 record in region play, and will face the #4 seed Westchester Vikings on Saturday. The Colts swept the Vikings during the regular season, winning 91-77 on November 18th and 70-68 on February 5th.

The #2 seed Rockland Hawks will play the #3 seed Ulster Senators in the other semifinal matchup.

Admission for the tour ament will be $5.00 to all spectators.
